Cold Weather Advisory issued January 5 at 3:10AM CST until January 6 at 11:00AM CST by NWS Hastings NE* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as -15 to -25 degrees expectedacross most of the area, including during the Monday morningcommute.* WHERE...Portions of north central Kansas and central, eastcentral, and south central Nebraska.* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 11 AM CST Monday.* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbiteon exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite andhypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to thesetemperatures.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Although wind speeds will be rather light,mainly only 5 to 10 MPH, the combination of even light winds andvery cold air temperatures will still drive wind chills todangerous levels.
